Making a wet room is easier than you think, using a pre-tiling backing board to seal the walls and floors to tank the room. These systems can also be used with under floor heating and offer better insulation for noise and heat loss. Imagine walking into your shower without stepping into it, with warm tiles under foot..beautiful.

Having a wet room will give the perception of more space and leaves you with a clever, uncluttered look that is also easy to access. Watching the children thrashing around in the bath, knowing that it’s not going to be dripping through the kitchen ceiling can be very reassuring too. For me tanking any shower enclosure is a must, it just means you have two water proof barriers, including the tiles stopping water getting onto joists and making damp spots or worse. With wet rooms you can afford to splash out!
